Happy Holidays!

We are off for Florida tonight! I heard we are going to have a relaxing vacation, not too much planned. Yeah! I've had a tough week, so I am looking forward to a week of just hanging out! Not only have I been dealing with the tooth coming in, but I've had a fever most of the week. Yesterday was better, so I told Mommy & Daddy that I'm up for traveling.

(By the way, my Aunty Katy wore this dress when she was my age!)

I hope you all had a Happy Chanukah, and have a very merry Christmas! I'll try to post some pictures from Florida:)

Oh What Fun...

We had a busy weekend! Friday Auntie Lori came into town. We went out to dinner, then Mommy, Auntie Lori, and I hung out for the evening. (Daddy went to play poker) Saturday we threw a party for Auntie Lori and my cousin who is coming in March! It was a great time, I met a new friend! Her name is Tabitha. She is only 11 days younger than me! Here is a picture of us hanging out:

Here's a picture of Auntie Lori & Uncle Chris from the party...

After that party, Mommy & Daddy went to Daddy's firm's Christmas party. I stayed home with Uncle Chris and Auntie Lori.

Sunday we went out to Aunt Kathrin & Uncle Jim's house for brunch! It was great, there was a giant Christmas tree!! The whole tree couldn't fit in one picture!! There was so much great food, tons of presents, and lots of wrapping paper!

Here are a couple pictures of me and Olivier...

Everyone said Olivier was "mackin" on me...but I don't know what that means...he is pretty cute though!

And just for fun, here's another video of me eating! As you can see, I sure do enjoy eating.

Guess what...a tooth!

So it looks like my first tooth is coming in! I've been feeling it for a little while, and it helps when I chew on my fingers. So pretty soon I can start trying real food! This week we added applesauce and green beans to my menu choices. I overheard Mommy whisper to Daddy that the green beans smell really funny...I don't really mind how they smell, I'm just excited to try a new food!

Here is another picture from our portraits...

We had a nice weekend. Saturday night my Aunty Ginny came and stayed with me while Mommy & Daddy partied! They went to Mommy's company Christmas party. I had a good time hanging out with Aunty Ginny. This week we haven't done too much, but Daddy surprised Mommy today! Mommy was a little down because we have been too busy to hang up decorations, but Daddy snuck home today while Mommy was working and hung lights outside! I've never seen these lights before, but they sure are pretty! And it made Mommy really happy, good job Daddy!

We have a busy weekend...tomorrow my Aunty Lori is coming to visit, then Uncle Chris is coming on Saturday. Mommy & her friends are having a baby shower for Aunty Lori (my little cousin is coming in March!) Then that night Mommy & Daddy are going to Daddy's company Christmas party. Then Sunday Aunt Kathrin & Uncle Jim are having a brunch for everyone. It sounds like a great weekend!

No crawling yet...but I want to get through this tooth thing first. Maybe I'll crawl when we get to Florida next week?

Peas!

So I have tried something new--peas! They are pretty tasty! Mom & Dad said they smell funny, but they taste alright! So far, I've had rice cereal, squash, and now peas. Mom & Dad said I can start something else maybe Sunday...I hope they pick something good!

I got some pictures taken earlier this week. Here are a few of the good ones!

I also had to get shots Tuesday. They were not fun, but Daddy made me feel a lot better afterwards. Mommy said she couldn't watch, silly Mommy!

I'm still trying to figure out this crawling thing...I've got my feet moving like crazy, I'm just not sure what to do with my hands yet? So for now I like to just kick around and play:)

Holiday Train!

All aboard the fun train in Santa Cruz! It was cold, so we got all bundled up.
Almost all of my friends came along for the ride. As you can see, this train had some pretty lights on board. They also had some musicians playing Christmas Carols and plenty of hot cider (Mom and Dad seemed to enjoy it).

Oh, and I started eating more real food this week. I've had rice cereal and squash so far. My folks think my eating is super cute - so they posted the video below.

Almost Six Months Old!

Wow! Can you believe I'm almost a half year old? On Thursday I will be six months old! But today is Monday, so I'm not quite there yet! I did have my six month checkup with the doctor today. I am 27 inches long (2' 3" tall!), 16 lbs 9 oz, and my head is 17 1/4 inches! That puts me in the 92nd percentile for length, 66th for weight, and 86th for head measurement. Cool huh?!? Here are my charts from the doctor...

All in all, Dr. Lewis is really happy with everything. He said I am all clear to eat solid foods now! So tonight, Mom & Dad introduced me to rice cereal...

It's pretty good stuff! I guess I'll keep eating it:) They said it will be about another week until I get to try something else, I heard they have some stuff called squash or peas or something in the pantry waiting for me!

Videos of me eating will follow shortly.

Turkey Turkey - Almost Thanksgiving Celebration

So we had a bunch of people over for our almost Thanksgiving celebration (the week before thanksgiving). This was the kids table - everybody had fun coloring and playing.

Here I am with my buddy Logan. There were so many kids over, it was great!

Here's the turkey mom made. I hear it was tasty. On Monday I go to the doctor for my 6 month checkup, and hopefully the doctor will give me the go-ahead to eat solid foods - so someday I'll get a chance to taste something just like this.

Video Mania!

Ok - so this isn't a video - but its fun! This is me standing on daddy's head. I don't remember doing this, but it must be real, cuz its on the internet.

My folks say that I might figure out how to crawl one of these days. I know that I need to kind of scoot around while on my hands and knees, but haven't quite got the hang of forward motion (although I can scoot backwards, no problem).

Here I am playing my piano. Dad hid the camera, otherwise I would never have let him capture my work. I perform for the art, not the fame.

Mommy is so funny! She can make me laugh at the drop of a hat.

Miles of Smiles

I've been having a pretty good time - standing (with mom and dad's help), playing with my new entertainment center thingy, and hanging out with friends. At school on Monday, I figured out how to get from my tummy to sitting up! My teachers couldn't figure out how I did it...they looked over and I was sitting up! They asked each other "did you sit her up?" and found that neither of them sat me up! Cool huh?

Here I am standing (or wobbling). I've got the leg strength - but just not the balance. But I'm getting close! Mommy says I'm "rocking" too...when I am laying on my tummy I like to kick and kick. I end up pushing backwards while I'm there...

Here's me kissing mommy's chin. I tried this once on daddy - but his beard was too itchy:)

Check out my recent conversation with Sophie. I told her about all the fun I was having on my entertainment thingy. She didn't really say anything back to me though? I've also been talking to this baby that I see in the mirror sometimes. She sure is cute!

Have a good week everybody!

Olivier's Birthday Bash

We celebrated Olivier's birthday last weekend! He's already over the hill - he's one year old already. I can't even imagine what its like to be that old - he has to deal with teeth, and walking (or almost walking) and who knows what else. We went to a kids' gym to celebrate - which was a lot of fun. Everything was padded, which is especially nice now that I'm sitting up. Whenever I got tired of sitting, I could just plop down and it didn't hurt one bit.

Here I am at the party with Logan and Olivier. We watched the big kids ride a rope zip line.

This is Olivier's birthday cupcake. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with a cupcake, and neither was Olivier, apparently. But it sure looked pretty!

Here I am at the park, enjoying my newfound sitting skills. Now that I can sit, I never want to just lay on by back anymore. Nope - I want to see whats going on.

Whee! The swings at the park were awesome! I'm so cool, I only held on with one hand.

Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween! We've had a great few days! Friday we went to visit my friends Abby & Logan. Mom & Dad watch some tv show with their mom & dad, and we either sleep or play. I had a lot of fun with my friends:)

Saturday Marie & Olivier came over to visit. Marie dressed up as a princess! Then Sunday we had breakfast with Marie & Olivier, and then Dad, Mom, and I went to the pumpkin patch! Here are some pictures...

For Halloween, I wanted to be an ewok! Dad and Uncle Chris love these movies, called Star Wars, and I wanted to be a cute animal from the movies! So Grandma made me a costume, thanks Grandma!! We went over to spend Halloween with my friends Kristopher and Ella. Kristopher dressed up as a ghost and Ella was a cat. They looked cool! Everyone ate dinner, then carved pumpkins. Dad's looked really crazy...it looked like a pumpkin that got sick:) hahaha...Then we went trick or treating...well, I rode in my stroller while Kristopher and Ella got some candy. (But I saw Mom & Dad sneak some treats too!)

Here's a picture of me in my costume...

This is a picture of Ella, dressed up as a cat...
Here we are trick or treating by Kristopher & Ella's house, there were a lot of people out! I think we should go back there every year!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
Oh yeah, and I turned 5 months old on Monday! Mommy said she can't believe how big I'm getting. I'm just about sitting up by myself...it's great because then I can watch everything!

What a Trip!

So we just got back from the coolest trip of my life (I know, its only been four months, but still)...

We went on a Caribbean cruise! We left from Miami, went to Haiti (my parents keep stressing that we went to a private beach on Haiti, not Port au Prince, wherever that is), Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We stayed on this huge cruise ship, along with my Grandma and Grandma, Aunt Lori, Aunt Sheri, Uncle Chris, and Aunt Ginny. We had four rooms next to each other, with a shared balcony, so I spent a lot of time with each of them. I also tried to hang out with my grandfolks a lot so that Mom and Dad could enjoy the cruise ship nightlife, whatever that means.

Here are some of the pictures from the cruise - or you can see them all at the link below:

Here I am in my special life vest. Lucky for me, I only had to wear this once, during muster on the first day. I especially enjoyed the head rest.

This is me on our private balcony! Mom and Dad seemed really intent on keepin me out of the sun, but that didn't stop me from having a great time.

Here I am swimming for the first time! Well, maybe floating better describes it. As long as the water is over 85 degrees, I'm totally happy.

We went shopping in Jamaica, and then for a drink at Margaritaville. Then Grandma and Grandpa took me back to the ship, while my folks hiked Dunn's River Falls.

In Mexico, we went to see some Mayan ruins. I don't remember much about the ruins, but I can tell you it was way too hot! I didn't sweat quite as much as Daddy - but thats cuz I stayed in the shade.

It was tough saying goodbye after such a great trip. Grandma and Grandpa dropped us off at the airport. Back to the daily grind - oh well.

It's Getting Chilly!

It feels like fall here! All of the sudden, Mommy is dressing me in hoodies and pants! We took a walk this evening and my toes got cold! Sounds like a good time to escape to the Caribbean...

This is a picture of me & Mommy doing the jumping game! I love to stand on anything and try to jump up and down...

I've been doing well, hopefully I'm finally getting over my cold! Daddy said we have gone through a lot of Kleenex over the past couple weeks.

We had a nice weekend! Friday night my friends Abby and Logan came over to visit. Here's a picture of me & Logan...

Then Saturday we went to Walnut Creek for lunch and some outside time. Saturday afternoon my friends Marie & Olivier came over and we went out to dinner! It was fun, I love being outside! Sunday Mommy & I went grocery shopping while Daddy worked from home. Then we hung around the house so Mommy & Daddy could start getting ready for our vacation!! School was closed Monday, so I got to play hookey and stay home with Mommy, then Daddy, and Sophie! Today it was back to school, so I got to see all of my friends!

Here's another cute picture, me in my overalls:)

Well I won't be posting next week, since I will be in the Caribbean! Hope everyone has a nice week and I will tell you all about our trip when we get back!
