The Big 0-1!!

Wow! Can you believe it?!? I'm a whole year old!

It sure has been a great year. I've been on lots of trips, from Reno, to Southern California, to Florida, to the Caribbean, to Mexico! I've spent time with so many friends and so much family. My parents and I have spent the past year really getting to know each other, and falling in love. It's been such a great year, and we are so happy.

Today has been a great birthday! It actually started yesterday afternoon, when Auntie Katy surprised me and came to daycare! She flew in yesterday afternoon. Then this morning when I woke up, two more visitors had arrived! Grandma and Auntie Chrissie arrived overnight! So everyone came in to wish me a happy birthday first thing this morning. I got lots of hugs and kisses!

Then we went up to school so I could celebrate my birthday with all of my friends. Here is a picture of my first cake:

I wasn't so sure about the cupcakes, but Jack and Phillip sure were:

Then we went to meet Daddy for lunch:

Afterwards, we went back to the house to nap. Mommy had to go into work for a bit, Daddy also had to work today, so I stayed home with Grandma and Auntie Katy. Auntie Chrissie came home after she finished a meeting, and we played all afternoon! I took a little bit of a nap, then it was time to start playing again! We went to dinner to celebrate:

They brought me a giant piece of cake with a candle in it, and sang "Happy Birthday" to me!

Then it was time to go home and open some presents. Here I am in my new chair from Mommy & Daddy, and reading one of the books from Auntie Katy. Among lots of other stuff, Grandma gave me a jack-in-the-box, he sure is funny! Auntie Chrissie bought me all the "Amelia Bedelia" books she could find! I can't wait to read them all!

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes from everyone, I definitely can feel the love! I can't wait to see everyone on Saturday!

Holiday Weekend

We had a long weekend and we finally stayed in town! Yeah! It started off with dinner with Abby & Logan on Friday night. Then Saturday was a day with just me, Mommy, and Daddy. It was great! Check out what I did with my Cheerios:

Just kidding, Mommy did that:)
Sunday we went to a sleepover at Kristopher & Ella's house. We took an adventure to the park near their house. We had to cross this bridge to get there, and we heard that a troll lived under the bridge! When we got near the troll's spot, we heard him growling...yikes! Then Kristopher jumped out from underneath the bridge! It was just him playing a joke on us!
We played at the park for a while, enjoyed some outside time.

Then we went back to the house, took naps, hung out. It was a great sleepover!
Now it's time to get ready for the big day...

Another Road Trip!

Another week, another busy weekend...it started with Friday night with my friends while Mommy & Daddy had a night out. Saturday morning we had swim class again, and it was just as fun as last time! Check out this picture of me and Daddy...

Then it was off to Reno! We went up to see Aunt Sher-bear, Aunt Lori, Uncle Chris, and Baby Sarah! She is getting so big! That evening we hung out with Aunt Sher-bear and Sarah, and Sarah's grandparents (Aunt Lori & Uncle Chris went to a party!). Sheri got some new game, all the grown ups had a blast playing it. Sarah and I just played with our toys. Daddy was waiting up for Uncle Chris to go gambling, but for some reason they didn't go out? Here he is "napping" with Potter...

Sunday we had breakfast together and went to see Aunt Sher-bear's new condo. It's really pretty! Then we went back to her place, had some snacks, played some games. Then Sarah's grandparents made dinner for us. Daddy said he ate the best ribs and baked beans he's ever had! I enjoyed hanging out with Sarah and her doggies...

We even kicked off my birthday celebration! Sarah's grandma put this candle thing into a cookie, it really caught my eye! (Daddy said something about how some day I will like this fire stuff like he does, Mommy said don't listen to that because Daddy's just silly.) Daddy helped put it out and then I even tried a bite of the cookie! I think Riley and Murphy really wanted to try it too.

Then we hit the road, headed home. When I woke up it was the next morning and I was in my crib! Now that is the way to travel!

Mommy said this weekend is going to be much quieter and we are not taking any road trips. That sounds good to me! I've got to get ready to P-A-R-T-Y!!!

Busy Weekend

What a weekend! First, I had my very first swimming lessons. I liked the water, and I liked the games our class played. I'm still not sure about this kicking and rowing thing, but I don't mind hanging out in the water.

Next, we went to Logan's first birthday party. As you can see, he was really ready to party. I also learned about carpooling - we did our part to save the planet.

Then we went camping with Christopher and Ella in Pescadero. I love the outdoors, and of course the Tellez trailer makes the outdoors that much more comfortable. Check out Daddy in my built-in crib!

Finally, for Mother's day we went to Gilroy Gardens with Marie and Olivier. They have all these great rides made just for kids my age. Plus, I tried ice cream for the first time - it was awesome!

And of course, it was my first Mother's day (and Mommy's first too)! I even made her a special card to celebrate (with some help from my teachers). As you can see in these pictures, my Mommy and I had a great first Mother's day together.

Beach Getaway!

So last weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Georgia for a wedding (Dad's friend Scott from Emory). We stayed at a bed-and-breakfast (or in my case, a pack-and-play and breakfast) on Saint Simons Island. It was great! The weather was perfect for hanging out on the beach. I was stylin' in my hat and shades.

As you've no doubt seen in my recent post, I have no problem handling a shovel (its just like a spoon). Here I am digging some sand up into my bucket.

Here I am, cruising down the beach. The sand was pretty well packed, so I had an easy time of exploring. I didn't go in the water though - it was way too cold.

Whee!
We all had a really good time at the wedding itself and I was the star of the show (with the possible exception of the bride and groom, who I guess were also pretty important).

The trip started out right..I slept most of the night on the planes. Then we arrived in Jacksonville and got our rental car. We went and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel, where Daddy had some tasty pancakes. I even tried some! After breakfast we headed out Saint Simons Island, checked into our B&B, and found out we had a giant room! I stretched out and played for a little while before we went out to explore the town. It is a really neat place! A little beach town, Mommy and Daddy were excited about all of the places to eat. (I was excited because we found a toy store!) We had some lunch and then went to meet up with the bride and groom, Courtney and Scott. Then we went back to the room for naps, and went out to dinner with the wedding people who were in town. That night we went out and walked along the beach and the pier before bedtime.

Friday was great...we slept in, had some breakfast, and went out exploring again. Had some lunch, took some naps, then went to the rehearsal dinner. It was at a great restaurant in town, where we got to visit with everyone and meet back up with a bunch of Daddy's friends from Emory. Then it was time for bed...

Saturday was the wedding day. It started off with some sleeping in, then a trip to the beach. Mommy and I played in the sand while Daddy played Ultimate Frisbee with the groom, Scott, and a bunch of their friends. It was so fun playing in the sand! Then we went to lunch. Well, Mommy and Daddy went to lunch, I took a nap in my stroller. We went back to the room for a bath and some relaxation before the wedding.

The wedding was held on the lawn in front of the island's historic lighthouse, right on the beach. It was beautiful! Then we rode in a trolley car back to the B&B for the reception. It was a great night! Dancing, friends, Mommy said they had an amazing wedding cake, but I didn't taste it. We partied all night! Okay, Mommy and I didn't party all night, but Daddy did. Apparently he only got about one hour of sleep before we had to get up for our early morning flight! The plane trip back was fine, I didn't really want to sit on laps the entire time. But we managed.

Then we landed and Uncle Stephane came to pick us up. We spent the day with Marie and Olivier (and Beepers) at their house. Then Kristopher and Ella came over for dinner! It was a great ending to a great trip!

Here's what happens...

...when I have control of the spoon...

I like to do it myself now, no more help from Mommy and Daddy, thanks!
