Guess what...a tooth!

So it looks like my first tooth is coming in! I've been feeling it for a little while, and it helps when I chew on my fingers. So pretty soon I can start trying real food! This week we added applesauce and green beans to my menu choices. I overheard Mommy whisper to Daddy that the green beans smell really funny...I don't really mind how they smell, I'm just excited to try a new food!

Here is another picture from our portraits...

We had a nice weekend. Saturday night my Aunty Ginny came and stayed with me while Mommy & Daddy partied! They went to Mommy's company Christmas party. I had a good time hanging out with Aunty Ginny. This week we haven't done too much, but Daddy surprised Mommy today! Mommy was a little down because we have been too busy to hang up decorations, but Daddy snuck home today while Mommy was working and hung lights outside! I've never seen these lights before, but they sure are pretty! And it made Mommy really happy, good job Daddy!

We have a busy weekend...tomorrow my Aunty Lori is coming to visit, then Uncle Chris is coming on Saturday. Mommy & her friends are having a baby shower for Aunty Lori (my little cousin is coming in March!) Then that night Mommy & Daddy are going to Daddy's company Christmas party. Then Sunday Aunt Kathrin & Uncle Jim are having a brunch for everyone. It sounds like a great weekend!

No crawling yet...but I want to get through this tooth thing first. Maybe I'll crawl when we get to Florida next week?

Peas!

So I have tried something new--peas! They are pretty tasty! Mom & Dad said they smell funny, but they taste alright! So far, I've had rice cereal, squash, and now peas. Mom & Dad said I can start something else maybe Sunday...I hope they pick something good!

I got some pictures taken earlier this week. Here are a few of the good ones!

I also had to get shots Tuesday. They were not fun, but Daddy made me feel a lot better afterwards. Mommy said she couldn't watch, silly Mommy!

I'm still trying to figure out this crawling thing...I've got my feet moving like crazy, I'm just not sure what to do with my hands yet? So for now I like to just kick around and play:)

Holiday Train!

All aboard the fun train in Santa Cruz! It was cold, so we got all bundled up.
Almost all of my friends came along for the ride. As you can see, this train had some pretty lights on board. They also had some musicians playing Christmas Carols and plenty of hot cider (Mom and Dad seemed to enjoy it).

Oh, and I started eating more real food this week. I've had rice cereal and squash so far. My folks think my eating is super cute - so they posted the video below.

Almost Six Months Old!

Wow! Can you believe I'm almost a half year old? On Thursday I will be six months old! But today is Monday, so I'm not quite there yet! I did have my six month checkup with the doctor today. I am 27 inches long (2' 3" tall!), 16 lbs 9 oz, and my head is 17 1/4 inches! That puts me in the 92nd percentile for length, 66th for weight, and 86th for head measurement. Cool huh?!? Here are my charts from the doctor...

All in all, Dr. Lewis is really happy with everything. He said I am all clear to eat solid foods now! So tonight, Mom & Dad introduced me to rice cereal...

It's pretty good stuff! I guess I'll keep eating it:) They said it will be about another week until I get to try something else, I heard they have some stuff called squash or peas or something in the pantry waiting for me!

Videos of me eating will follow shortly.

Turkey Turkey - Almost Thanksgiving Celebration

So we had a bunch of people over for our almost Thanksgiving celebration (the week before thanksgiving). This was the kids table - everybody had fun coloring and playing.

Here I am with my buddy Logan. There were so many kids over, it was great!

Here's the turkey mom made. I hear it was tasty. On Monday I go to the doctor for my 6 month checkup, and hopefully the doctor will give me the go-ahead to eat solid foods - so someday I'll get a chance to taste something just like this.

Video Mania!

Ok - so this isn't a video - but its fun! This is me standing on daddy's head. I don't remember doing this, but it must be real, cuz its on the internet.

My folks say that I might figure out how to crawl one of these days. I know that I need to kind of scoot around while on my hands and knees, but haven't quite got the hang of forward motion (although I can scoot backwards, no problem).

Here I am playing my piano. Dad hid the camera, otherwise I would never have let him capture my work. I perform for the art, not the fame.

Mommy is so funny! She can make me laugh at the drop of a hat.

Miles of Smiles

I've been having a pretty good time - standing (with mom and dad's help), playing with my new entertainment center thingy, and hanging out with friends. At school on Monday, I figured out how to get from my tummy to sitting up! My teachers couldn't figure out how I did it...they looked over and I was sitting up! They asked each other "did you sit her up?" and found that neither of them sat me up! Cool huh?

Here I am standing (or wobbling). I've got the leg strength - but just not the balance. But I'm getting close! Mommy says I'm "rocking" too...when I am laying on my tummy I like to kick and kick. I end up pushing backwards while I'm there...

Here's me kissing mommy's chin. I tried this once on daddy - but his beard was too itchy:)

Check out my recent conversation with Sophie. I told her about all the fun I was having on my entertainment thingy. She didn't really say anything back to me though? I've also been talking to this baby that I see in the mirror sometimes. She sure is cute!

Have a good week everybody!

Olivier's Birthday Bash

We celebrated Olivier's birthday last weekend! He's already over the hill - he's one year old already. I can't even imagine what its like to be that old - he has to deal with teeth, and walking (or almost walking) and who knows what else. We went to a kids' gym to celebrate - which was a lot of fun. Everything was padded, which is especially nice now that I'm sitting up. Whenever I got tired of sitting, I could just plop down and it didn't hurt one bit.

Here I am at the party with Logan and Olivier. We watched the big kids ride a rope zip line.

This is Olivier's birthday cupcake. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with a cupcake, and neither was Olivier, apparently. But it sure looked pretty!

Here I am at the park, enjoying my newfound sitting skills. Now that I can sit, I never want to just lay on by back anymore. Nope - I want to see whats going on.

Whee! The swings at the park were awesome! I'm so cool, I only held on with one hand.
